Notice of Public Comment Period

Notice is hereby given that the Skagit Council of Governments (SCOG) has made the proposed regional project evaluation process for human services transportation projects available for public comment.  Through the proposed process, projects would be assigned regional priority for the statewide 2017–2019 Washington State Department of Transportation Consolidated Grants Program.  Regional criteria and weights to evaluate projects are included in the proposed evaluation process.

The public comment period closes on October 6, 2016.  Action on approval of an evaluation process is anticipated at the October 19, 2016 SCOG Transportation Policy Board meeting.  All written comments received on or before October 6 will be distributed to the Transportation Policy Board one week before the meeting.

Paper copies of the proposed evaluation process are available at SCOG offices located at 204 West Montgomery Street, Mount Vernon, WA 98273 during normal business hours. SCOG at Burlington Summer Nights to Hear from the Public

SCOG staff will be at Burlington Summer Nights this Friday, August 28th to get input from the public about the transportation network in Skagit County.  The event will be held behind the Burlington Chamber of Commerce building located at 520 East Fairhaven Avenue, Burlington, WA 98233.  A prioritization exercise will be available for participants to vote for how they would like to see funds spent on roadways, transit, bicycles and pedestrians.  There will also be a couple of maps showing existing and expected traffic congestion in the area.  The event goes from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  Join us!
