July 2017 Regional Transportation Improvement Program Amendment

SCOG has received a request to amend the 2017-2022 Regional Transportation Improvement Program. The public is encouraged to review the proposed amendment and submit any written comments to Gabe Philips by noon on July 12, 2017. Written comments will be included in the information packet distributed to Transportation Policy Board members prior to their July 19, 2017 meeting. The public will also have the opportunity to comment at the Transportation Policy Board meeting, but written comments are preferred.

This public notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comments on the TIP development process will satisfy the Federal Transit Administration’s Program of Projects requirements.

Surface Transportation Program Block Grant Project Selection 2021-2023

At its June 21, 2017 meeting, the SCOG Transportation Policy Board selected projects to receive Surface Transportation Program Block Grant (STPBG). These projects will be included in the 2018-2023 Regional Transportation Improvement Program, which will be adopted in October. The projects selected to receive funding are listed below:

  • Sedro-Woolley – SR 20/SR 9N/Township Intersection Improvements – $716,220
  • Burlington – SR 20/Skagit Street Signalization Project – $1,513,750
  • Mount Vernon – Freeway Drive – $792,900
  • Sedro-Woolley – Cascade Trail West Extension – $500,000
  • Skagit County – Francis Road-Section 3 – $480,075
  • Skagit County – Centennial Trail – $216,250
  • Concrete – Secondary Access Project – $663,022
  • Skagit County – Francis Road-Section 1 – $250,000

Notice of Public Comment Period

Notice is hereby given that on June 22nd, 2017 the Skagit Council of Governments (SCOG) released a revised Public Participation Plan (Plan) for public comment.  The public comment period will end on August 7th, 2017.

Email public comments on the revised Plan to markh@scog.net or mail to Skagit Council of Governments, c/o Mark Hamilton, 204 West Montgomery Street, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.  Comments must be received by 5:00 p.m. on August 7th, 2017 to be considered.  All written comments received by the deadline will be distributed to SCOG’s Transportation Policy Board one week prior to action on the revised Plan, which is anticipated to occur at a regular meeting scheduled for August 16th, 2017.
