SCOG has received requests to amend the 2015-2020 Regional Transportation Improvement Program. The public is encouraged to review the proposed amendments and submit any written comments to Gabe Philips by noon on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Written comments will be included in the information packet distributed to Transportation Policy Board members prior to their February 11, 2015 meeting. The public will also have the opportunity to comment at the Transportation Policy Board meeting, but written comments are preferred.
This public notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comments on the TIP development process will satisfy the FTA’s Program of Projects requirements.
Skagit-Island Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SIRTPO) would like your input to help guide non-motorized transportation project investments. SIRTPO has around $700,000 in Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) funding to award to eligible projects. These funds can be used for various non-roadway projects such as bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, recreational trails, community improvement activities, and safe routes to school.
SIRTPO will be issuing a call for projects in the coming months to award the TAP funding to eligible projects on a competitive basis. You can provide input to help determine which types of projects should be eligible for the regional funds as well as what factors should be considered when ranking the projects. Please take a few minutes to respond to the survey in the link below. Your input will help the SIRTPO Policy Board determine the best use for these regionally-allocated funds.

The survey will be closed at 5:00 PM on February 13, 2015.
