Call for Projects – Regional Human Services Transportation Projects

An updated Call for Projects has been issued by SCOG for regional human services transportation projects.  This Call for Projects will inform a list of human services transportation projects that is prioritized every two years for Skagit and Island counties. Prioritized projects may be considered for funding by the Washington State Department of Transportation through their consolidated grant program for the 2015-2017 state biennium.  A final regional prioritized list of projects will be adopted by the Skagit-Island Regional Transportation Planning Organization Policy Board in December.

Project application materials for this Call for Projects will be accepted October 16th – 24th via email.  More information related to this process will be posted to SCOG’s website as it becomes available.

Draft Regional Transportation Improvement Program

The Draft 2015-2020 Regional Transportation Improvement Program (RTIP) is now available for public review. SCOG is required by federal and state regulations to develop an RTIP for both SCOG and Skagit-Island RTPO which spans at least four years and is updated at least every two years. The RTIP is a compilation of projects from the various federal, state, and local funding programs for all transportation agencies in Skagit and Island counties. Projects included in the program will implement the long range transportation and transit plans for the region, help meet the short-range needs of the area, and provide for the maintenance of the existing transportation system.

The primary purpose of the RTIP is to identify and document federally funded and/or regionally significant projects to be included in the Washington State Department of Transportation’s (WSDOT) Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).

IMG_20140903_103155A public hearing regarding the 2015-2020 RTIP will be held at the Anacortes City Council Chambers on October 15th, 2014 at 2:30 PM.
